On July 19, Bike Miami Rides are back, offering Miami residents a free ride towards becoming safer, better, more confident city cyclists. No registration is required and it is completely free.
Volunteers, including Officers from the City of Miami Police Department Bicycle Unit, will be on hand to teach you the basics of riding safe. Meet at 8:30am at Legion Memorial Park on NE 64th & Biscayne Boulevard. We’ll start our day going through the “A-B-C Quick Check”, when you’ll learn how to quickly check your Air, Brakes and Chain and what you need to make your bike road-ready. Then, you’ll learn how to fit your bicycle helmet for optimum safety. We’ll go through the basic Rules, Rights and Responsibilities of Cyclists and Motorists before heading out for a short ride – just under 2 hours long. We’ll stop for water and bathroom breaks and learning opportunities as we explore Miami’s Historic MiMo district, Little Haiti and Buena Vista neighborhoods, the Design District and Edgewater. At the end of the ride, you’re invited to join the City of Miami Bicycle Coordinator, Collin Worth, and other volunteers for lunch. Destination to be determined.
Legion Memorial Park is a beautiful waterfront park in the heart of the Miami Modern (MiMo) Historic District. There is abundant on-street car and bicycle parking in the area. The group will meet in the shaded area just behind the NET office (6599 Biscayne Blvd). Please bring a water bottle, your helmet, your bicycle and your friends! See you on Sunday, July 19 at 8:30am!

July 19th is gonna be a busy day for any active outdoorsy types!
There’s a triathlon on key biscayne, a duathlon at Oleta Park, and now Bike Miami Rides! I won’t be able to make the ride but did post the information on our Events Calendar.

Maybe I can make the August ride! I’m looking forward to it.
You shouldn’t do this on church days.
Cindy- thank you for your comment. Synagogue days have also been very difficult for us and we have found that Sundays are the most popular. Would you be willing to consider a Sunday afternoon ride?
Yes – the 19th is hard but most of our riders are coming out because they are not triathletes but just people interested in riding their bikes for short commutes. Of course, everyone is welcome and you will be missed! Best of luck to all of you competing on Sunday!
